I like Dobson, he’s a great addition to the team, I just don’t think he’s a 9.5M player, and thought this from the moment he signed his contract.

Again nothing against the player but he’s paid like a franchise D, which I don’t think he is.

I don’t think 9.5 gets you a franchise d as the market changes. True franchise d like Makar and Hughes will be much higher priced.

That was a consideration for sure. If he can stay a dependable minute eating D that scores 40-50, I’m fine with the deal which will look better as the cap rises.

Yeah we'll see how it plays out with the cap rising and Dobson's contribution. Right now it's pricy (he's 9th highest paid D in the league) but the salary range has changed. I'm not stressing about it yet.

This is what always happens on long term deals. It seems high and then in the following years everyone gets more and more
