Chicago Wolves last week (crazy games against Cleveland):

Jan 21 @Cleveland W 6-5 (OT) Primeau with the win. Suzuki, Brind'Amour, Slavin, Cal Foote and Nadeau x2 (including the OT winner) with the goals.
Jan 22 @Cleveland L 7-6 (OT) Miftakhov with the loss. Slavin, Evan Vierling, Cal Foote, Nadeau x2 and Robidas with the goals
Jan 24 Rockford W 4-1 Primeau with the win. Seeley, Gunler, Nikita Pavlychev, and Brind'Amour with the goals.

Justin Robidas is:

9th in the AHL in points (39 in 36 games)
T4th in goals with 20
1st in +/- at +26 (Patrick Brown and Willian Lagesson right behind him)

Bradley Nadeau is:

10th in points (38 in just 30 games)
T12 in Goals with 17
4th in +/- at +23

Chicago is now 20-9-10, 2nd in the Central division by 7 points and still hopelessly behind 1st place Grand Rapids by 17 points. They will get a chance to make up ground this weekend because.....

2 games this week: Fri @Grand Rapids Sat v. Grand Rapids

Nadeau is showing up on trade bait lists ahead of the deadline. I do think he’s an NHL scorer at some point, because his shot is just that good and his passing game is starting to catch up, but I don’t really see an obvious path for him with the Hurricanes. If Carolina makes a swing for a Top 6 forward at the deadline, I could easily see a 1st rounder and Nadeau as the outgoing cost.

Yeah, I've seen him mentioned in what at this point are probably highly speculative packages for Robert Thomas, who would be an ideal 2C in the Canes' system.

Yeah, I've seen him mentioned in what at this point are probably highly speculative packages for Robert Thomas, who would be an ideal 2C in the Canes' system.
Unfortunately, the packages I’ve seen for Thomas also include Nikishin. To me, that’s a non-starter in a package for a forward, even one as desperately needed as a 2C. Including him in a Quinn Hughes package makes more sense, that’s closer to a like for like.

Also, keep in mind that these “packages” are 90% speculation … or higher. I absolutely believe the Canes would have included Nikishin in a package for Hughes. I’m WAY less convinced that that means they’d include him in a package for a forward.

Well, so long as he’s still alive, then it’s a shame that Cerrato will miss the rest of the season. He certainly had a strong post draft campaign

Canes Prospects ranked the top 15 prospects in the system. The top 3 are Nadeau, Legault and Unger Sorum. The biggest surprise to me is that Nystrom is ranked 9th even though they say he has 500+ NHL games ahead of him.

It’s the size thing … and the lack of a defensive dimension. Same as always.
And at 2nd glance, he’s the 3rd dman listed behind Legault (which makes sense) and Siryatsky, who may well be a great prospect but, as with many of our Russians, it’s a question of whether they make it to this side of the ocean.

Whoops … OFFENSIVE dimension. Still, you got it.

That kind of bland-ish D who can play competently in all three zones often gets overlooked, especially when they lack physicality. That was a knock on Chatfield when Carolina got him, I recall … and he’s WAY more physical than Nystrom will ever be. Still, when it comes to the Canes’ system, it’s always going to matter more whether or not you can skate. And he moves well.
