OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

I'll be on my 'Fire Bobby' shit if that's the case. We just have too many guys with major limitations when the ball is in their hands. Even most of our good players all have significant limitations with the ball in their hands.

While we were chasing market inefficiencies with all of this all D long bois shit, there was a skill revolution in the NBA that we missed out on.
Nobody is going to get fired this year even if they get swept.

But how they react will be telling.

I wont be fooled into thinking this is the precursor to contending.

Like...how valuable is going hard on all of this D shit when Max Strus just took CMB to the hole and finished over him?

Max Strus.

I like CMB. But that's a role player skill set, not a franchise cornerstone skill set.

I agreed with this year being about seeing how much talent was in the organization and growing it. A lot of good came out of this year, but it should absolutely be clear that we need aggressive swings at turning this talent level into higher talent. Which is why I want guys who aren't perfect themselves like Sabonis, Porter Jr, etc who are the next up in talent over players like Jake, RJ, Ingram, etc.

Quickley can stay, Scottie obviously, I dig CMB and Walter. Mamu can stay if the contract isn't ridiculous. Everyone else can go. I don't say it with malice either. But we need big upgrades if we're going to take the next step.

They need to stop being cowards about surrendering these non lotto 1sts that lead to the likes of Dick Gravey

I'm okay with keeping our powder dry for now. I think we're one more set of big trades away from being at that intermediate "we the north" Kyle+ Demar level that gets you 1-2 moves away from major contention. Turn these good but just good starters into higher tier feature players, but then turn those plus your draft equity into the next star that comes available.

Didn’t do enough at the deadline. And Poeltl looking busted is a big problem for this team.

I don't say this lightly, but making the Sabonis deal happen in the summer is essential. Getting off of the Jake extension and adding a former all star in return would be huge.

Sacto is probably going to want two 1sts to take on that terrible Poetl deal, or whatever 3rd party gets involved

Nah. There is no market for Sabonis and he actively wants out. A 1st maybe, two 1sts is crazy. Jake is still a decent NBA starter.

The expectation around the league is that the Kings would have to attach assets to Sabonis to move him fwiw. Jake's contract isn't really worse than Sabonis' at the moment.

Interesting strategy by the Hawks coach, watching his bench get run over by the Knicks bench and just leaving them out there to pad the lead for half the 4th Q
