Yeah, out of the teams left, Colorado and Carolina are probably the only two teams I wouldn't mind see winning. Minnesota too I guess, but I don't see them getting past Colorado, and would rather Vegas have the toughest possible opponent in the next round.
The Habs I don't want to see win because, well, duh---I'm a Leaf fan, of course I fucking don't. Same goes for the Sabres. Don't have anything specific against Anaheim aside from the fact that they have no business being in the playoffs in the first place this year. Vegas I'd be cheering against even if they didn't have Mitch, but with him they're the team I most want to lose.

It's almost like none of the old boys have any sort of underlying plan based on objective data and they just run on pure vibes. When it works, they win. When it doesn't, they lose and burn the organization down around them along the way.

I mean, Rutherford does that after he wins as well. That's kinda his thing.
After the 'Canes 2006 win, which admittedly Rutherford had a huge hand in with one of the best trade deadlines of all-time, he then fucked the organization over for a generation with all the insane contracts he handed out and moves he made in the wake of that win.
Same situation in Pittsburgh. Made some big vibes-based swings that won their two more Cups (honestly---largely just the Phil Kessel trade), but he left them a smoldering ruin afterwards. Vancouver unfortunately got the worst of both worlds---the traditional Rutherford smoldering ruin left behind him, but without any of the success.
