I get it but it's the difference between being a hockey fan or a Canadiens fan. I'm both, I love watching all the series.
It seemed like a boring matchup on paper before it started.

I'm happy Carolina won that game so we get a real series. Seven games, OT for the Cup would be ideal. 1950, I believe, was the last such event. It preceded even me.
One thing about those two teams, I suppose, is that their success cannot be attributed to tanking along the way. Something to be said for that.

No, Wings beat Habs in 1954 in game 7 overtime as well (looked it up). The Tony Leswick game. That one slipped my mind. And it also preceded me, so I venture to say none of us have ever seen one. Much easier to wish for one.when you don't have a horse in the race.

We came close to winning 8 Cups in a row. Won in 52-53, Lewick in OT in 54, and might/likely would have won in 55 if Richard had not been suspended. And we won the next 5 of course.
And that's why the game is played on ice, not paper.
