2025-26 NHL Miscellaneous Thread

That was a pretty stunning trade for Vegas to make, which of course makes you wonder who they are going to be acquiring? Did they shake loose assets and cap space and a lineup spot for a run at Jason Robertson?
 
Hellebuyck to Vegas seems to make sense if they’re moving Dorofeyov. However, a goalie tandem of Hellebuyck and Bussi would be something to behold in Raleighwood.
 
When Vegas puts Pietrangelo on LTIR, they’ll have just over $13 million available. But they only have 9 forwards and 4 dmen. And Hill and Hart in goal.

Does Vegas have enough assets to get that done, and to get rid of Hill’s contract? Doubt it. Getting rid of Dorofeyev just gives them the room to overpay Rasmus Anderson and fill out the rest of an NHL roster.
 
I officially have no idea what Vegas is doing trading away Dorofeyev or why they would seemingly choose re-signing Andersson to re-signing their best goal scorer. I mean, do whatever but that was weird.

Yeah, I’m not saying I think it’s the right thing for them to do. I don’t. I’m just trying to divine what their plan is.
 
The Pens didn’t quality Vasily Ponomarev, if anyone is interested in reuniting the band. He spent last season with Omsk Avangard in the KHL.
 
Missed this during the draft, but Toronto sent Brandon Carlo to St. Louis for 2 thirds. He cost them a first, 4th and Fraser Minten when they got him from Boston at the 2025 deadline. With Morgan Rielly supposedly available, are they trying to clear space to make a run at Werenski?

Carlo has not played well there. He would have been a healthy scratch sometimes with the current D core. Plus the fans there are not happy with his play compared with what they gave up for him. It was time for them to move on.
