OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

This team is a complete and utter snooze-fest.

It's a bad and boring team that can't score runs and bunts. It's the worst version of the team I have ever seen.

shameful roster.

getting excited about hot streaks by Sogards and Thorntons and Drurys is just pathetic.

They Jays had 7 games total last year with attendance under 20k, and none under 16k. 0 for both in 2017.

This year they already have 11 under 20k, including 6 under 15k.

Hopefully that gets Rogers to fire these idiots.

---Ricciardi---

So Ricciardi inherited an awful attendance situation and steadily improved it year after year, until his 2009 when it all fell apart, and he was immediately replaced.

similarly, Anthopolous inherited an awful attendance situation and steadily improved it year after year, until he was unceremoniously dumped due to spending too much of Rogers money on payroll.

Uniquely under Rogers, Shapiro is the first one to inherit an awesome attendance situation, and the first one to oversee a steady year after year decline in attendance. He's managed to oversee a plummet from an elite attendance situation to one of the worst in franchise history, in just 4yrs.

This is an interesting test for Rogers - never before have they shown faith in an FO after experiencing either steep drop in attendance or a steep spike in payroll.

And this is only the start. You gotta think we got at least 3 or 4 more years (after this) of shit attendance.

Unless they plan to spend again.... that could change everything -- because the lack of REAL OF and pitching prospects likely means a long rebuild.

It's crazy that Shapiro has already been here nearly as long as Anthopolous.

Most of the people in this forum are gonna be old farts when this team might be good again.

I’m an old fart now. They need to pick up the pace if they are going to be good again in my lifetime.

I would be curious to see a similar analysis for profits and revenue. I suspect Shapiro made Rogers a lot of dough in the first couple years.

But I mean yeah, obviously I hope they can his double-talking risk-averse incompetent ass

AA made them that money (if money was made) during 2016 and 2017.

The 2016 team was 90% AA players -- and the 2017 crowds were high because of the good teams AA put together in 2015 and 2016.

You know it is hilarious?

Out of Anthopolous, Atkins and Ricciardi it will end up being Alex that had the shortest tenure as the Jays GM when it's all said and done.

The Blue Jays have been the Twilight Zone since 2015.
