Stoke 1-1 West Brom
Sunderland 2-3 Crystal Palace
Swansea 1-3 Man City
Arsenal 3-0 Chelsea

Man U came out flying and wrapped that match up by halftime, scoring 4 goals in a 20 minutes span. Leicester looked really bad. Vardy and Mahrez were both subbed off at halftime. Rooney spent most of the day on the subs bench, coming on in the 83rd minute. Mata started in the #10 spot and was brilliant. West Brom got a goal at 90+1 to steal a point at Stoke. Sunderland squandered a 2-0 lead, Benteke grabbing the points at the death. Aguero came back from suspension with a brace. Arsenal beat Chelsea in the league for the first time in nearly 5 years, scoring all 3 in the first half. Chelsea looked terrible.

West Ham 0-3 Southampton

Another bad showing at home for Hammers. They've allowed the most goals in the league and have the 2nd worst goal differential, 2 better than Stoke.

Kevin DeBruyne out about 4 weeks with a hamstring injury. He's been a monster for Man City this year.

Kevin DeBruyne out about 4 weeks with a hamstring injury. He's been a monster for Man City this year.

He's been the best player in the league for sure, and maybe the world over the last month. That's just an incredibly poorly timed injury.

Yesterday turned out to be a pretty good day for Ralph Krueger. He's the Chairman of Southampton but is also coaching Team Europe in the World Cup of Hockey. Team Europe beat Sweden in the semifinals yesterday to advance to a best of 3 final matchup with Canada.

Burnley 2-0 Watford

Burnley was founded in 1882 and were one of the founders of the Football League in 1888. Watford was founded in 1881 and joined the Football League in 1920. This was the first time they met as members of the top division.

BBC Wales Sport tweeted that Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins met with former USMNT coach Bob Bradley amid speculation that Francesco Guidolin's job is in jeopardy. Bradley is currently at LeHavre in the French 2nd division.

The rest of the weekend:

Swansea 1-2 Liverpool
Hull 0-2 Chelsea
Sunderland 1-1 West Brom
Watford 2-2 Bournemouth
West Ham 1-1 Middlesbrough
Man U 1-1 Stoke
Leicester 0-0 Southampton
Spurs 2-0 Man City
Burnley 0-1 Arsenal

Spurs hand Man City their first loss of the season. Mauricio Pochettino's first win as a manager was a Copa del Rey match for Espanyol against Barcelona and Pep Guardiola. City still lead Spurs by 1, Arsenal and Liverpool by 2. West Ham, Stoke and Sunderland are the bottom 3 with Stoke and Sunderland still winless.

International break coming up, next matches the weekend of 10/14.

Swansea have sacked Francesco Guidolin (on his birthday) and hired Bob Bradley as the new manager. He had been at Ligue 2 Le Havre. Bradley becomes the first America to manage a team in any of Europe's top 5 leagues.

So long as they aren't tying Bob's hands by forcing him to use the systems they've used previously this should work well. Bob's a simple, pragmatic, no nonsense game manager and a good man manager. He's succeeded at every single previous stop.

Grant Wahl said he beat out Ryan Giggs and former Villareal manager Marcelino, both of whom were also interviewed. Marcelino was just named to replace Bradley at Le Havre. Swansea didn't think that Giggs had enough experience, having never been a full time first team manager before.

A few costly missed/save penalties this weekend. DeBruyne and Aguero were both denied by Steklenberg. Benteke airmailed his attempt over the crossbar. Aaron Creswell made his season debut for West Ham and was sent off after picking up 2 yellows in a minute.

Man City remains top on goal differential over Arsenal. Liverpool can make it a 3 way tie with a win over Man U on Monday. Spurs are 3rd, 1 point back. Despite their win, Stoke are in the bottom 3 with Swansea and still winless Sunderland.
