2016 Playoff Thread

Maybe he left cause he didn't want sit on a 2-0 lead for 40 minutes.
Maybe if he signed the preds wouldn't have to.

Doesn't matter, round two is here, Bruce is fired, everyone's bracket is screwed. A good night.

Bruce Boudreau's game 7 record

2008 vs. Flyers (loss)
2009 vs. Rangers (win)
2009 vs. Pens (loss)
2010 vs. Habs (loss)
2013 vs. Red Wings (loss)
2014 vs. Kings (loss)
2015 vs. Hawks (loss)
2016 vs. Preds (loss)

0.125*
First coach in*NHL*history to be 1-7 with seventh games.*
First coach in*NHL*history to lose a game 7 four seasons in a row, already extending his record from last year. 4 straight years of losing a series after being up 3-2. Anaheim now have more game 7 home losses than the Habs have had in their entire franchise history.

Caps should win that series. Better depth, better goaltending, better on D.

Can't argue that, the Caps have been amazing all year. They absolutely have to be the favorites.

That said, having watched most Pens games this season... they really are night and day since Sullivan took over and Crosby imo has without a doubt reclaimed his throne as best player on the planet.

As for goaltending, it's tough to beat Holtby but Murray isn't just putting up great numbers in a small sample size, the kid is a damn good goalie.

Depth... Pens actually have some pretty good depth.

Their blueline is suspect. Letang is awesome but after that it's not very good, but they manage to play a good system.

This should be a spectacular series.

Tough spot for the Ducks, those first 2 losses at home with a rookie goalie turned out to be the difference.

Yeah, imagine the look on his face when Nashville is raising that 1st round victory over Anaheim banner at the start of next season.

For a Habs fan, you sure use a lot of SenatorFan logic.
I'm sorry, I keep remembering some group of fans saying he wouldn't sign just to be knocked out in the first round.

That comment was more directed towards that fanbase. Vesey, really, whatever. At those fans though. Ha

They said that it shouldn't matter much towards his decision...and it was a rebuttal of your ass hurt point about why would he give up a top six role on a team about to make a playoff run. Pointing out the Preds lack of playoff success was a solid counter point. If the Preds can make the WCF, then you probably had a point. You keep trying to forget the root of this, and that was your insistence that Vesey made some sort of dire mistake to not join the Preds and the many emotionally driven arguments you tried to make to justify your asshurt.

Meh, only Sensfan chirps about winning 1st rounds.

I have to say, the changing of the guard in the Western conference this year is pretty refreshing. Dynasties do make for a great story, but at the same time, I'm pretty sick of Chicago, LA & Anaheim. San Jose & St-Louis, and to a lesser degree Nashville, all have pretty supportive and long-suffering fan bases, and it's nice at least one of those fanbases will get to see their team make it to the third round.

Though I do hope San Jose makes short work of the Preds.
