Anyone heard if the Canes are planning another Summerfest prospect camp this year in late June? I need some new skates and the equipment sale usually has a nice selection.

I watched the first period of this game and I was shocked to see such lazy uninspired play that I turned it off and watch the first period of the Blues-Sharks game 6. By comparison, the speed of the NHL game like a thousand times faster and yet they're still able to control the puck and make accurate passes and shots. The Checkers literally looked like they're skates were made out of lead. Maybe it was the jumbotron feed, but boy that game was s l o o o w.

Marlies win game 4 in OT, 4-3. Roy, Sellgren and Poturalakinwith the goals. Series tied at 2. Game 5 tonight.

The Florida Everblades, still owned by Peter Karmanos, have entered into an affiliation agreement with Nashville. Goalie Jeremy Helvig and Josh Wesley were the only Canes prospects that spent the season there and Wesley was loaned to Hartford at the trade deadline. As Brian LeBlanc retweeted, the Greenville (SC) Swamp Rats are unaffiliated, so maybe the Canes enter into an agreement with them?

Cherkers win 4-1. Roy and Fleury had shorties, Lorentz and Bishop (EN) had the others. Tokarski had 40 saves. Cherkers can wrap up the series at home on Sunday.

Haydn seems like one of those guys that is too good for Charlotte, but destined to be the 7th guy in Raleigh.

A dman version of Zach Boychuk. TBF, spending last season with the Canes before he was really ready probably set his development back a few years.

Roy is slow. That shorthanded breakaway he scorded on was kind of painful to watch.

He was fast enough for a breakaway, wasn’t he?

He’s not a great skater through. The size is tantalizing but skating ability might condemn him to a career in the AHL, much like Chris Terry.
