Checkers this past week:

Nov 14 @Lehigh Valley L 3-2 (OT) Neds with the Loss. Gauthier and Poturalski with the goals
Nov 16 @Wilkes-Barre/Scranton W 2-1 Neds with the win. Poturakski and Kuokkanen with the Goals
Nov 17 @Wilkes-Barre/Scranton W6-5 (OT) Booth with the Win (Neds was pulled, 3 goals 10 shots 14:17). Saarela x2, McKegg, Pu, Renouf and Necas with the goals

4 home games this coming week. Tue/Wed vs. Belleville and Sat/Sun vs. Laval

Zykov was assessed a cross checking match penalty this past Friday and served a 1 game suspension on Saturday. Checkers still have the best winning% in the AHL.

Saarela had the game winner in OT. Renouf had a Gordie Howe hat trick.

Someone ran into Chuck at Rey's-- said he's still pretty bitter about how things played out for him with new management/ownership.

From what I've been told, you can replace "pretty" with "exceptionally." He's made of bitter right now.

Hope things smooth out for him. I loved his broadcasts, but like me, I'm guessing the majority of folks by now aren't batting an eyelash at the quality of the broadcast with John/Dipp. Sign of the times I guess.

Nov 21 Belleville W 3-2 (OT) 2-1 Neds with the win. Saarela and Necas x2 (including the OT game winner)
Nov 24 Laval W 4-2 Neds with the Win Bean, Saarela, Brown and Zykov with the goals
Nov 25 Laval W 3-1 Booth with the Win McKeown, Saarela, and Zykov with the goals

3 roadies this week. Fri @Providence, Sat @Hartford, and Sun @Providence 16-4-1 Checkers are by far the best team in the AHL currently

Kuokkanen is tied for 3rd in the AHL in points (22 in 21 games).

The Charlotte City Council and Bojangles have reached a 10 year naming rights extension for Bojangles Coliseum. The existing agreement would have expired next month.

What name, Bojangles? It’s a fast food chicken restaurant. Don’t you have them in south Florida? Their headquarters is in Charlotte.
