Sam Bennett from the Panthers has a hearing with Player Safety for boarding Blake Coleman. Nothing for McDonagh.

I will say that I felt Bennett's was worse.. I was shocked it wasn't 5. (both that and McDonaugh could have been).. Still doesn't excuse the refs forgetting their whistles against Tampa unless they could pull a Panther off.

Tyler Johnson is just a beast in the playoffs. That move he made on the breakaway was as sublime. What friggin touch. Looked like Wallin’s goal except Johnson was trying to do it.

I think you mean Braydon Point?

Its seems apparent that the book on Bobrovsky for breakaway/shootouts is 5 hole. Canes exploited that multiple times in a shootout win earlier this season and Point did the same thing last night.

Yes, my bad.

The Athletic and New York Post are reporting that ESPN will hire Leah Hextall as one of their play by play voices. She’s done NHL play by play for Sportsnet and college hockey for ESPN. She’s Pittsburgh GM Ron Hextall’s cousin and Hall of Famer Bryan Hextall’s granddaughter.

Jussi Jokinen announced his retirement. He had payed the last 3 seasons for Karpat in Finland with Canes prospect Tuukka Tieksola.

It didn't end well for Jussi in Raleigh. After his heroics in the 2009 playoffs, he had a career-best year in 2009-10 with 30 goals and 35 assists. But he only scored 37 goals in his next 182 games and was waived and then traded to the Pens in 2013 for a conditional pick in the 2013 draft that wasn’t exercised. He bounced around from the Pens to the Panthers, Oilers, Kings, Jackets and Canucks, last playing in the NHL in 2018.

That’s a mild surprise. Yzerman didn’t hire him and they’ve only made the playoffs once.
I guess I'm the only one here not surprised. I've been expecting that extension, as you can see the structure Blashill wants from the Wings and they do their dangdest to perform for the guy. They just aren't good enough to follow through with results yet. If he was a problem in Detroit, it was WAY down the list ... and I don't think he was a problem.

I’m a Canadian but I must say these playoff games without fans in Canada are awful after watching the last few nights of Canes and other buildings in the US right now. Get these fans back in the buildings.

The Columbus Dispatch says that John Davidson is headed back to the Jackets as President of Hockey Operations, the role he held before leaving for the Rangers.
