2024 World Championships Talk

Slaf is soooooo good. 4-1 Slovakia, he's got no points, but is dominating almost every shift. So many setups blown by his linemates. And if we have a shot at getting Zegras, we should. Fantastic player.

For Finland, Kapanen with another beautiful tip goal. Shades of Lekhonen with his knack of getting his stick on the puck.

I’ll gladly take Zegras but they’re not getting he 5th or Hutson for him
I agree with that. And I'd be very wary of giving up the 1st from the Monahan trade with CGY with that sliver of a chance for McKenna. But wow, love the skills and compete level he's showing in this game. Best US player by far.

Habs have zero chance for Gavin

It's literally THREE fucking games and some of the guys on the list have only played two. This is beyond a small sample size and the level of competition is comically mediocre.
Whaaaaaat? The guy has 5 goals in 3 games, dude. That's impressive no matter how you slice and dice it.

PS: A very stacked (with NHL'ers) US team lost today to Slovakia. And it was an awesome game. Very competitive like an NHL playoff game. Objectivity is a virtue.

The pick is 1OA protected next year. Which means if they finish last overall, it gets deferred to 2026. In 2026 it is 100% unprotected.
Ya I want to keep that pick too. As we get better having a good pick from another team makes up for us picking later. I think now is the time for Calgary to rebuild heading into a new arena in a few years.
