It's just funny that he said that after arguably their best period in the entire year. One of the few times where they actually looked like a wagon.

Its very clear just how - not ready - the Leafs are too win a cup after watching the Oilers vs Panthers series so far. Aside from the need to man up a bit more, the Leafs speed (or lack of) needs to be addressed. The rushes that those two teams are capable of is very impressive. Is it just a matter of getting our D to start that rush instead of killing it? Are we able to compete in this regard with what we have?

Seriously though...we're obviously better than fringe playoff teams. We faced one and deep dicked them. It took everything in our Leafy powers for that to even go 6.

But we're also an obvious step in intensity down from a championship caliber team that has decided that they're taking us seriously now.

So how far are we really? Real contenders have to take us seriously to handle us but when they do they handle us badly.

It does look like this on the surface, but is it really possible that a team isn’t giving its all for 2.5 games and then decides it cares and beats us down? Even so, how does that explain game 6?

I concur with your sens series assessment but let's revisit that July 2. playoffs performance aside, I'm not seeing who the regular season replacements for Marner and Tavares and their 176 points are, or how they will be acquired. Not to mention we got an incredible 75 games plus playoffs out of Tanev, which was miraculous.
