He"ll always disappear when it gets physical. hes not trying to "get matthews goals". hes trying to get the puck off of his own stick and onto someone's stick who isn't afraid to be where goals are scored from.
Even the greatest moment of his career so far came with him standing at the boards and passing the puck to someone not afraid to be in the middle of the ice

I think barring a miracle, the team is going to head back into a decline with no guarantee when it will come out again.
-even if Shanahan departs, an incoming President will of course take at least another year to evaluate. that means the big contracts of Treliving and Broobie (and their crayon hockey philosophy) are staying and making roster decisions
-the core talent group's ceiling is a playoff team that will struggle to win even a single round (the sens aren't really that good and we needed OTs) despite having the cap hits and allocation of seasoned champions
-there are few if any players that are likely to improve next year, and arguably a number who might not be as good
-looks like they're going to lose more talent this offseason than they can replace via free agency, and the roster doesn't have enough talent as it is in the bottom 6 or defence corps
-cupboards are bare
-no picks
For a 108 point team, they are actually in a really difficult situation and their management and scouting does not inspire confidence in escaping it.

I came home from soccer ,mowed my lawn and overseeded some dead patches. Overall a very stress free night.
I recall days of being heavily invested in the team. Didnt miss a playoff game, gutted after loses but this go around my give a fuck is not there. If I have time I'll tune in but otherwise I'll watch the recap and check in the board for updates
