Thanks Pittsburgh for the extra rest for fly and boom

Given that it can take 3-4 days to clear concussion protocol even if everything is basically fine, I’d call that excellent info. Ehlers supposedly is just still dealing with that ankle he dinged up a few weeks ago, so that’s more than likely just a situation where rest is really helpful and then you’re dealing with whatever’s lingering. We’ll see what they end up playing, but they can get by for awhile without either/both, so there’s no hot reason to push it all that much. You KNOW more testing matchups would be coming so there’s no reason to get silly. When they can go, they’ll go.

If Philly wins the series with the Pens, what's the over/under in minutes before the Phlyers run Andersen? ...because that's so gonna happen. Filthadelphia is pretty much dirtbag city limits, where anything goon goes, especially with facewash king Rick Toccet driving the bus.

I mean … Philly plays that game, yeah, but they don’t have anything like the physical thump that Ottawa does/did. I’d be vastly more concerned with corralling their wide speed in transition, especially if Niki is out for any length of time. Plus, it’s the playoffs. Everybody wants to be a tough guy. It’s going to be some version of the same thing regardless of who you play from here out. Everybody thinks they’re a big deal, every team has some dirtbags, and everybody is going to accidentally on purpose run your goalie. For this round in particular, I’m not that worried about that stuff regardless of who wins.

Enter the trolls who start in on how the Canes are going to start spending well under the cap ceiling because:

* Dundon is cheap
* Dundon needs the money for Portland

Good luck trying to explain to these people that the Canes spend smart and that we will not hesitate to spend to whatever the salary cap ceiling is if it makes sense to do so. We were not 27th this year because we cannot afford to spend to the cap.
