2025-26 Canes Miscellaneous Thread

Welp, looks like I'll try to get to the downtown park in Cary for that watch party. Unless it's going to rain, then home it is, constantly repositioning myself on the couch and playing Sudoku puzzles to rid myself of the unneeded stress during the game.

So they claim they sold out in an hour. Which is impossible based on how people here secured seats and then the public group that got what was left later 🤷‍♂️

or the racetrack.. Or, in a porta-john in 100 degree heat. I carry T.P. and an entrenching tool in my truck in case I need to do the wild bear thing.

Really?? This is where we are now? You couldn’t hold it until the offseason? You couldn’t make it to the grab bag thread? You had to dump all this right here??!!

Better topic … how come nobody is talking about the ice conditions when both locations have outside temps in the 100s?

My theory - the NHL took over ice prep at all playoff locations a couple of years ago to ensure that the ice also sucks during the early rounds. That way the fans and players get acclimated to bad ice early and complain less when it sucks during the Finals. There are so many whiffed passes in the first round these days, and the buildings are a good 5-10 degrees warmer than in the regular season. That ain’t because it’s hot outside.
 
All present and accounted for at practice. Andersen and Kochetkov shared 1 net, Bussi was by himself in the other, so an indication that he’s starting again. RBA once again says “Everyone is available.”
 
I’m not sure what the conversation surrounding Freddie is even supposed to be about at this point. Hurt or not, he wasn’t good in his Finals appearances and Bussi was really good in his. It would be galaxy brain of the highest order to change goalies right now. I guess the guys covering practice had to write something, so Freddie “wins.” Otherwise they’re just asking questions about the pressure surrounding closing out the series, which is less comfortable.
 
Freddie earned 13 Cup wins and will certainly get his flowers once this thing is won…but I think Bussi will be allowed to bring this all the way to the finish line now! I’m not convinced Freddie even wants to sign another NHL contract if he gets a ring to cap this season! A helluva way to go out.
