Look, I’m not saying Dobes has been bad, because he hasn’t, but Freddie has almost doubled him up in total saves above expected … and has played two fewer games. They aren’t riding their goalie any more than the Canes are.

I get the trepidation from Canes fans because Dobes was outstanding in one game against them this season and really good in another, but we’re not talking about a guy on an all time heater or anything. He’s been really good. Full stop. And that’s what you would expect from a guy with 6 playoff wins this season under his belt.

You read far too into things in your old age…good grief. And how did Freddy have anything to do with my post…I wasn’t making any comparison whatsoever..Dobes has played well. Trepidation?

Seriously, here. They’ve GOT to take the gloved punches out of the game pronto. It’s gonna get worse quickly if they don’t put their foot down. I know the league freaking loves the face washes in the playoffs for some unknown reason, but when a guy hits an opponent with the other side of the glove, his butt ought to be sitting for 5 minutes and serving a suspension. There’s no reason to hit a guy with an armored hockey glove unless you’re trying to injure him. Period. You want to punch somebody? Take off the freaking glove.

I know I’ve seen it but can’t find it in the rule book. If a goalie throws a punch with his blocker, his night is over. Same rules hours apply for gloves.

i remember Jordin Tootoo picking up a suspension for punching Stephane Robidas with his glove on.

It’s getting concerning how vicious some of the extra curricular activity is getting. The cheap punch in our first round, punches with gloves, punching a player pinned to the ice by your teammate and a ref. There’s just no honor or respect at all by so many players. Someone is going to be seriously hurt.
