2025-26 NHL Miscellaneous Thread

Slugs score on the PP, 6-3 and that's the end for Dobes. Frodo probably should have pulled him after the 4th goal.

Holy mother of pearl... that looked like the Habs decided about halfway through "(polar's word) this, we'll take Game 7." and that was the rest of the game.

This is one of the weirdest series I've seen. Sometimes I feel like I'm watching an NBA game - all scoring, no defense.

Worst case scenario for me. I can't be at game 5, I will be out of town. That being the case, another sweep by the Canes would be ideal.

Both of these teams can beat the Canes in a 7 game series of course but sheesh, they are both all over the place defensively and in goal.

The Canes regular season ended in April 14. They played the last 8 games over 13 days. When they return on Thursday, they will have played 8 games in the previous 36 days.
The recent extended Olympic break turned out to be a great experience to learn how to deal with this insane downtime.

Honestly, look at an expected goal chart. They didn’t bother to show up at all. Lyons barfed up 3 beach balls and it took Buffalo a while to recover but after they did, they were gone (with the wind … nodding to the rest of this thread)

Both teams are so loose with the puck. I can see how we’re going to focus on pressure pressure pressure.
Yup. Not all the time in every game, but once you see it you can’t unsee it. Buffalo is looser with the puck, but mostly because they don’t have a heck of a lot of structure to anything they do. But when Montreal starts to press on offense, they turn it over in a lot of bad areas and with guys all kinds of out of position to recover.

Game 7 between Montreal and Buffalo tonight … any thoughts?

I’ve lost all feel for this series now that it’s turned feral, frankly. Two goalies pulled in one game will do that to your logic board. Buffalo’s the betting favorite, but I suspect that’s just because they’re home. Not that home ice has meant much in this series. Seems like a coin flip, yet it also seems like the winner will walk the dog in this one since only two of the six games have been what you’d call close games. Weird series.
