Good explanation of how and why the Rangers will likely soon be owned by a different entity...

Yeah. The Dolans took advantage of having a combined ownership platform for as long as it was actually an advantage. Now they have more flexibility if they split the entities, so they’re doing that. I would imagine Dolan will make some cash reducing his position, but there’s almost no chance he sells enough stock to lose control of the Knicks, Rangers or MSG.

Sooner or later, I’m guessing that MLSE will come to the same conclusion at some point. Probably when it eventually becomes obvious to the shareholders that having corporate pukes like Pelley making decisions that impact your sports operations is a REALLY bad idea

Didn’t he just carry the torch out Monday night in game 3 in Montreal? I believe he lived and owned a home in Asheville, NC.
He did have a home in Asheville...not sure if he still does. And yes he did carry the torch (photo below) - I think someone even commented in here that he looked like he could still be playing. Crazy stuff

According to The Athletic, police in Florida were responding to a suicide attempt in a store owned by Claude Lemieux, but no details on his death have been released.

A few years back when his son played for the Canes I know he spent quite a bit of time here both watching his son play and meeting with his agency clients like Freddy. I think it was at that time that local media reported that he had a vacation home in Asheville, NC.

Win Game 5 you get two days between games. Win Game 6 and you get three days. Win Game 7 and you get one skinny day off and you’d 100% be practicing on that day.

Kind of an interesting story with this signed stick…it’s kind of sad too. I got it for a friend of mine because she was a big fan of his and the Av’s. The day before I was going to bring it to her she was hit by a drunk driver on Harrison Ave and killed. So I keep it as a memento of her life.

Claude was Andersen’s and Felix Unger Sorum’s agent.

Also today, it was announced that former Bruins enforcer Lyndon Byers was diagnosed with stage 3 (of 4) CTE by researchers at Boston University after his death last year. And I can’t help but wonder if there will be a similar post-mortem diagnosis for Lemiuex.

Lemieux’s death at his own hands is tragic. It is also the epitome of anger, fear, hurt, desperation and isolation. Brain injury and mental illness are often in lockstep. I am assuming it was self inflicted GSW as that is how most white men in this country kill themselves. I hate that we continue to struggle to help treat those with TBI and MI. I hate the stigma associated with both. I hate the accessibility of guns in this country.
