I disagree - I think USHL and other US junior leagues are gonzo w QMJHL able to lure NE US junior age players (18 & 19), Q will experience reinvigoration
Add to it I expect CHL to allow more younger players in - “exceptional status” …
I dont think so , still the best junior league on earth
New rules may affect enrollment but I dont see a major fallout

I dont think that rhe CHL is going to die but certainly some long established junior teams could die or relocate. I saw something recently about the Peterborough Petes and how they might have to fold or relocate if they don't upgrade from the barn they've been playing in since about a decade before Bon Gainey became a member of the Petes.
Junior hockey is big business nowadays and old barns like the Verdun Auditorium wont cut it anymore. You now need to provide the same perqs and amenities as an NHL facility. The club seats, the luxury boxes, the high end concessions, etc. There are current owners who just don't have the scratch to build a new arena and these small towns dont have the tax base big enough to fund it either.
