The Spurs forum after the last match at White Hart Lane was full of accounts of wrenches being smuggled in and season ticket seats being carried off to enhance the man cave. Definitely an opportunity missed here.
 
A great friend of mine obtaied some of the artificial turf from UNC's Keanan Stadium when it was replaced, which he installed around his horseshoe pits. He also added bleachers and stadium lights when another local school upgraded their facilities. His horseshoe setup is superior to any other I've ever seen and is kind of intimidating at first.

I was hoping to take my seats home in some sort of Foundation fundraiser since I had been in that same spot since 1999, but yeah it seems a missed opportunity like someone said.
 
On Nikishin, this is a translated interview with his agent. He has no intention of returning to the KHL. They’ve been in contact with multiple teams but it’s up to the Hurricanes.

”Many teams are ready to get Nikishin. But Carolina refuses. It’s a situation familiar from the KHL: a player wants to move to another team, but the club won’t let him go. You could even draw a parallel with Spartak. So Sasha isn’t going to the KHL. He’ll wait in America for his contract situation to be resolved.

You know one really bad way to get an NHL team to accommodate your trade request as a second year player with zero leverage? Act like they are simply there to do your bidding and complain when they don't step and fetch it on your command. Eff off Niki.

BTW, big respect for Tulsky for maintaining a gentlemanly silence on this mess.
 
BTW, if rumors that his agent has informed several clubs (including Vancouver, Winnipeg and Calgary) that his client will not sign a contract there are correct, then Niki can double eff off. We'll see what comes out in the wash in terms of information, but if that crap is true then he's on that special list with Jack Johnson and Adam Fox. What is it with pretentious defensemen, anyway?

Most P-1A visas last the length of the contract but can be approved up to 5 years. Not sure how his work visa is structured

Somewhere in my house, I have a seat tag from the 'last' men's game played in Reynolds before the move. Damned if I know where it is. I still have shit that I can't find after the move in 2006 between Games 6 & 7.

If Niki didn’t agree with what his agent has been saying for several months….

1. We’d have heard from him because the agents comments are highly visible. He knows what’s been said and hasn’t reigned him in

2. If he disagrees he would have a new agent

Niki knows exactly what’s been said and has either Ok’d it or is at least fine with it. We need to stop treating all these guys as victims of agents, lawyers, etc… Niki isn’t a 17 year old dumb kid. He has been a professional here and in Russia for several years….he knows what his agent is doing and is apparently happy with it.
 
Ben Kreyzerman is Nikishin’s agent at Quartexx, which has become a powerhouse in representing NHL players. (Along the notables they represent are Mitch Marner, Sam Bennett, Darnell Nurse, Kris Letang, Zach Werenski, and some guy named Taylor Hall.) He’s a lawyer and has mostly been a background guy, handling a dual role of representing a few players and serving as the agency’s operations director and legal counsel. From what I understand, he is young and regarded as an up-and-coming star in the world of player representation.

We may not like what he’s doing, but I doubt that he’s an idiot.
 
His agent is Alexandre Chernykh. Unless he has recently changed agents, he still has a Russian agent. One with little experience and few to no other clients.

He has been with Quartexx and Kreyzerman for a while. They represent several canes besides Hall listed above….Chatfield, DesLauriers among others

I think it’s safe to say the Canes are willing to play the long game with Nikishin so he and the agent should buckle in for what could be a long ride this season. Lost money and if they are not going back to the KHL, a lost season of not playing hockey.
