Engstrom is a legit NHL D, but don’t we already have enough of that kind of blue liner? We either need a crease clearer or someone more strictly D oriented.
And RHD is an issue.

Dobson wanting to waive ONLY for Habs opened a lot of eyes.....players around the league can see how fun this young group is....
Also, at the 4Nations Cup, numerous journalists were saying players like Crosby/McDavid were highly impressed by Habs practice facilities...for equal money, these little details can make a difference (McDavid is not coming here....he's going to Sharks or Vegas)

My issue is this , both Nick and RT`s contracts expire in 3-4 years in their early 30`s
If this doesnt work out in the playoffs you might be looking at more changes with no centers in the funnel
Hage maybe that stud soon and provides the buffer to maybe take over the 1C at some point
If we didnt have Hage fine but we havent had a stud at C in the pipeline for decades .
We are covered on D with 53 and 48 for 7-8 more years

HUGO likely she is the window is 8 to 10 years. Start giving away your young assets now, couple that with an injury or two and what you get is a window that is much shorter than that.
They’re not going to hedge their bets that seriously this early.
