Around the League 2019-2025 Edition

If it wasnt for the fact that Doughty and Kopitar had already won, and if LAK had other stars, people would be talking about the Kings stars like the Leafs stars.
And if your aunt had balls she'd be your uncle.

Winning makes you a winner which, in turn, makes you different from being a loser. Ergo, if Kopitar and Doughty get hit by the team bus and killed today, they will always be 2 time Cup champs, whereas if Matthews forgets to put sunscreen on his fivehead and dies of a severe sunburn the same day, he will always be the guy who couldn't win the big one.

Nothing removes the stench of failure and underachievement quite like winning championships. And the best thing about them is that they never expire. Winning a Cup is literally a forever thing. It is the sports equivalent of immortality.

As the late Fred Shero wrote on the blackboard in the Flyers dressing room before Game 6 of the 1974 Finals "Win today and we walk together forever." Truer words were never spoken (or written). This is why I say that the career of any player who doesn't win a Cup is diminished, even if they were a Hall of Fame caliber player. Fifty years from now, no one will remember nor care that so-and-so won the Art Ross in 2025. But they'll never forget a Cup.

Lol. . .

Even braying asses need to be fed so they can pull their "fair" share of the load. That's where automatic feeders come in handy: set it and forget it. 😉
