It's funny watching the leaf fans try to chirp as if the Matthews era hasn't happened. Not even close
Your $40m core couldn’t even get to the ECF to flame out spectacularly.

Not since 2002Sure but in fairness, we never won two rounds.
Both the Leafs and, to a lesser extent, the Habs have a following that specifically wants them to lose.I think everyone here is well aware that if the Leafs flamed out of any playoff series like the Habs just did, in such a decisively (record-setting) pathetic whimper, there would be a steady stream of "reporting" on it through the summer and right into the start of next season.
The habs finished higher in the standings, and won 8 more playoff games than they did the previous season. It's funny watching the leaf fans try to chirp as if the Matthews era hasn't happened.

By that logic the Leafs have no business being in the NHLTruth is the Habs had no business being in the ecf vs a team like Carolina. They would have been better off losing to Buffalo tbh, no one needed to witness this murder. We can point to the coach or the fatigue all we want. The Carolina roster is magnitudes better than Montreal's roster. That's why I wasn't really taking this series seriously as a real thing from the beginning (to which I was laughed at). It's as simple as that, not that deep!
It’s better to hide on the golf courseTrue, Leafs haven't lost a 3rd round playoff game in over 20 years... never mind getting embarrassed like the Habs did.
