It's a really deep system now, and he had a nice year last year.

Would have been nice to keep around, but i get not wanting to sign an ELC with the glut of F that are ahead of him

Yeah a 1.4 ppg 20 yr old over aged winger doesn't seem like a huge loss.

Maybe he plays the right way and can grind out a bottom 6 career after a few years in the minors.

I'll help you out because I like you. Leafs have a direct comp for this player, Miroslav Holinka. Except Holinka had a better year and is better (1.38ppg vs 1.29ppg). And he's fringe top 10 in the Leafs pool.

that's generous. Holinka is a strong defensive C and more productive than Pridham the winger.

By direct comp I meant same age and draft year. Not that they're similar quality. Holinka is obviously better and not really considered more than fringe top 10. Thinking pridham would be top 5 on Leafs is dumb dumb dumb.

Nah. Our system is thin, but even then Hildeby, Ahky, Ben Buford, Chadwick, Villeneuve, Groulx, Quillan, Tinus-Luc Sundin, Johansson, maybe even Hlinka and the russian kid Plesovskikh are better prospects than Pridham.

So generously he would rank 10th here but we have an overage centre who performed almost identically to Pridham this year, and then a Russian winger who has some decent 18 yr old comparables in the MHL (Kuzmenko, Panarin, Marchenko) who would be arguable imo for him to be as low as 12th.

prospects have turned out even better than I thought in recent years tbh.

We've had some development all across the system which has been nice to see. Kids in the AHL have performed well, we've had some nice surprises in Europe, and some of our weirdo adds for the Marlies have turned into impact AHL players who might be able to carve out actual NHL roles.

It's obviously lacking in projectable high/elite level players (pending.....), but it's not the desert it looked like at the beginning of the season.
