Around The League - 2025 Offseason

it's a good thing for Stars, McJesus is having rough time of it these playoffs with only 6 goals and 26 points in 16 games.

Look I watched Gretzky & Lemieux … granted they were viewed through the eyes of a kid back in the beginning of their careers … neither had this level of separation compared to everyone else in the league.

There is NO ONE in the NHL even close to McDavid - he can do whatever he wants with the puck, whenever he wants

Nilan put it best when describing the goal McDavid scored vs NYR a few years back after the ref blew a clear high stick followed by a cross check against McDavid:

“He was furious, grabbed the puck from his D, and you could see all 4 NYR players in their D zone were pooping their pants as he went right through them to score”

I always cheered for the Oilers in the finals when I was a kid, but it was generally against the Flyers or Bruins after they eliminated us so it was probably more out of spite than bandwagoning (even against Carolina in the 2000s).

Dallas was awful the whole round. Keystone Cops, with a pylon in the net.

Sure, Edmonton was good. But the Dallas performance was befuddling.

Now bring on some real hockey. Hopefully.

Lemieux did it but it looked like he was going slow-motion around opposing players....he was so good, he could slow the game when he wanted it...and he did it with 2 guys riding on his back, 2 others hooking him.....and refs stood there watching as he still managed to score.

Guys like Lemieux and Jordan would average so much more points in today's rules (NHL and NBA)

Nothing against McDavid, he's got amazing wheels and hands.....but Lemieux had even better hands.....heck, Jagr had better hands than McDavid....but McDavid has the speed....incredible speed.
