i don't get why all of you have so much hatred for Leafs....

To me, Bruins are, and will remain, the enemy......from 70's to now.....

Leafs mean nothing to me...if anything, i dislike Tampa and Canes more than Leafs....we have no history with Leafs, they are insignificant in our history (unlike Bruins, Tampa, Canes).

I hope they make Finals....they are due....

Some of us are older when the Leafs/Habs was the only real rivalry. Growing up in Ottawa, it was pretty much Leafs fans against Habs fans. Many of the rednecks who hated anything French were Leafs fans. And that's pretty much the case today in the Ottawa valley, all the hillbilly yahoos are still Leafs fans.

I agree. Leafs are like the annoying little brother - more of a bother than a rival.
 
Jets have amazing forwards, great defense, best goalie in league (regular season)

If Helle plays like regular season, Jets will go far

You clearly aren't old enough.

We have played the Leafs in the postseason 4 times in my lifetime. Thankfully I wasn't old enough to remember the first one, in q967 that we lost, but I've seen them the other 3 times and fortunately we won them all and only the last one was even close.

But that last one was close enough to remind me why they must NEVER win

I hated losing to the Bruins in 88 when they broke our 43 year win streak but even that was nothing compared to the thought of.the Leafs winning. I may hate the Bruins, but I respect them. I do not and never will respect the Leafs.

Because the are the symbolic epiphany of anything & everything T-dot, which no one calling themselves a true Mtl’er can ever wish goodwill upon.

It depends on age. For the oldies, who remember pre-expansion, it’s the Leafs.

But for people who grew up with the 70s dynasty and in the 80s, it’s Boston. Leafs were irrelevant.

And all that shit with Philly? Pre-game fight, Hextall going after Chelios, etc.

Boston and Philly. Hate both. So much.

Canes are the modern version. Koivus eye. And Rags because of that fucker who broke Carey.

Leafs are like a kid brother. Simple. Slow. Weak and wish they could keep up.
