I have to think that the search for the next coaching staff of the Canes is probably done and over, and we're just waiting on the Cup playoffs to run their course before anything is made "official". Dineen is available in a few days right? And Samuelson can be announced soon after?

Dineen was given permission to speak with the Canes already, but his contract does not expire until 6/30. Is there some reason they wouldn't release him of it before then?

If you can answer that question you will have the answer to the other question. My guess....the delay isn't because of Dineen's circumstances, it's because of Ulfie's.

Why would Ulf leave a NY Rangers asst. position to take a lateral move to the Canes? BFF w/ RF regardless... He might take a head coaching gig here but frankly I hope not. I tend to think Dineen is a better choice. But if the three mentioned above were the staff, in whatever order, it would be one hell of a coup.
