Kevin 11?
He's an assistant with the Blackhawks. The question with him is how he views his best chance of getting another NHL head coaching job. Is it sticking around as an assistant or going back to the AHL as a head coach?
These are the guys who've been Peters' assistants at his various stops (from hockeydb.com):
Spokane:
Kevin Sawyer - only worked 1 season, 05-06 then left coaching. Back as an assistant with Spokane in 13-14, no listing since then.
Steve Pleau - long time AHL assistant, spent 7 years with Worcester from 1998-2005, 1 year as head coach in Peoria, Spokane with Peters, 3 years as head coach with Edmonton in the WHL. No listings since 2010.
Hardy Sauter - Succeeded Peters after they won the Memorial Cup. Coached 2 years there then went to Idaho in the ECHL. No listings since 2012.
Dennis Sproxton - goalie coach. Was with Peters for all 3 years, coached 1 year with Sauter then no listings since 2010.
Rockford:
Ted Dent - Was with Peters for all 3 years, succeeded him when Peters went to Detroit. Still the head coach at Rockford.
Steve Poapst - Was only there Peters' last year. Stayed 2 years with Ted Dent and then moved to the Iowa Wild as an assistant. Was a head coach with the Chicago Steel in the USHL for 3 years.
The other assistants with Peters in Detroit were Jeff Blashill and Tom Renney. Blashill is the head coach in Grand Rapids. Renney spent 2 years in Detroit and no listing since 2014.
