Kampf, Engvall, Mikheyev, Bunting, Simmonds play the same style as Auston Matthews? The best teams have a good mix of skill, grinders, young guys, leaders, etc.
We have one type of hockey player all throughout the lineup. With terrible intangibles from the top players and a history of shitting the bed yearly in big moments.
It’s almost as if getting a bunch of soft skilled players isn’t the best way to build a great team? Yet when alternatives are brought that up that would be a net negative on the talent front you are accused of pumping “leaderbeans”.
I don't get this. The best teams in the league are skilled, not a bunch of grinders.
I do agree these bitches need more killer instinct and learn to step on the throats of the opposition but that has nothing to do with their style of play.
They lost because their best players sucked ass. Not because they didn't have some grit grinder on the 3rd line.We didn’t lose to Montreal because of goaltending or because of Nick Foligno.

It's ironic. He's basically taking the position that we have these softies who add no intangibles on the ice and just score, and yet we lose in the playoffs because those scorers don't score. They lost because their best players sucked ass. To be fair, that was quite a while ago.Not to mention the flames definitely don't take Marner for Tkachuk anyway. Neither team likely makes the move. Come up with something realistic at least.
How does that change what we're seeing right now though?
Trade Marner for Tkachuk (believe that was one of your suggestions) and you're just breaking up one of the best lines in hockey and you still have sub .900 goaltending for over two months.
