ok so the introductory phase of the season is over. and the injured but leisurely paced november is also over.
Now we start the grind.
It's a 13gms in 23 days slog until christmas, including 3 back to backs. Where we then get 3 days off to celebrate. And then get to play 14gms in 27 days, including 2 back to backs. So on average it's less than 2 nights for every game we play for the next month and 3 weeks.
(After that the schedule gives us a solid rest - 6gms in 17 days, and then 13 days off for everyone not playing in the four nations tournament. So 6 games in a month. Then it's a bit of crunch to end the year with 27 games in 55 days - which still isn't as bad as the stretch we're about to go on now.)
The silver lining here is that the quality of competition softens up a bit in december and we have many very winnable games. Of course, games against weak opponents are our kryptonite so who knows if that's even a silver lining.
Anyways, the weak opponents start off this weak, with CHI and NSH 2 of the bottom 3 teams in the standings, before facing the Caps on saturday.
Time to be a serious team for once and take care of business against the shits. Matthews is back now so no excuse not to show up and have two solid wins heading into the weekend. We'll likely have all of McCabe, McMann, and Domi back by then. oh and Reaves too. We'll have Reaves back. woot.
