I'm aware but Leafs won't have that time. If they lose in the 1st round they'll be a major shakeup. It's not that I think there should be, but they can't stay status quo at all. 6 straight years of losing in a qualifying/first round is unheard of. It might just be Dubas gone, but could be Dubas and Shanahan and new guys then make a big trade. Who knows. Something will give.

This Leaf team is miles better than the shit Yzerman had with him in the 80's as well. A team this could only has so much rope.

Well they had the Marner to Matthews cross ice thing but then teams took that away. The problem is Marner can't do anything but that. He's a passer. And Matthews can't create.. and even if he could his options were to pass to Marner or Rielly. Two nonshooters. Same goes for th jvr thing. Eventually teams took that away and that was the end of that. Tampa have guys that can do it all. Everyone is a threat to shoot or pass at a high level. How can you defend that?
 
And if you are just going to use a stagnant PP, than at least use everyone. Why not use JT downlow, like they used JVR. He has elite hands around the net. Feed the puck in there. Shoot for the tip. He is an elite goal scored. It opens up room up top.

Marner is an elite playmaker, with a bad shot, why put him in a prime shooting position, and let Willy take shots from outside the circle?

And I'll never get why the entry play is to clog the line, not attack with speed, and then try to pass over the line. Thats all coaching. Its a set play.

When he's the only thread to score on the flanks/point it's hard to do that. Teams will not ignore him.
 
And Auston doesn't have ovys one timer. He's a catch and release guy and that split second makes a big difference
 
This is a confidence team. They generated a zillion chances against NYR and were insanely frustrated all game long and through that OT. And it carried over into this game except without as good chances.

The biggest issue with these guys is mental. They get dejected too easily instead of putting the past behind them. It’s what kills them in the playoffs. They lost game 5 in a horrible way and it spilled over.
