Wow, what a third period from the Leafs and Freddy. Just incredible recovery of their game.
The refs again did everything they could to **** the Leafs up the ass. But **** you, we brought our own lube.
Any time someone says there's nothing with the officiating show them the video of Kappy being raped with the ref gawking at it and doing nothing. Oh, then show them that douche Backes throwing a vicious elbow at Freddy and the refs evening it up. What a ****ing shambles.
As per the rest of the series, the Leafs need to beat the Bruin douchebags and the refs.
Great job by the Leafs. And KUDOS to Freddy for the giant performance tonight!

This game should supplant the bungle in the jungle as the most awesome rope-a-dope in sports ever. Okay, not, I love Ali and that was intentional. But, shit, the Leafs got run around for about 20 minutes until they finally got their legs back on Mitch Marner's outstanding goal. Kid is amazing. Just ****ing amazing.

Boston looks really fatigued. We have all the momentum regardless of game 7 in Boston. They really should have ended the series in game 5 with all those PPs.

So ****ing proud. SO ****ing proud. All I wanted was a balls to the wall effort, win or lose. And though I thought we’d win it, it’s so sweet for it to have played out like this.
Andersen was flat out awesome. Another paddle stop to save a sure goal when it would’ve hurt. And solid all the way, with a few other great saves (the glove to deflect out the rising Marchand shot stands out for me). Great game from the tender when we needed him to be huge.
And my fave Willy, looked a bit sluggish in the first, but then came alive after his goal. Lots of effort, lots of nice plays. I like how Babs mixed things up a little mid game by playing Willy and Matty together a few times unexpectedly. I’m sure that threw off Cassidy’s plans somewhat. Matty looking stronger every game, and did his shark like straight line towards the net a couple of times. He looks primed to explode any minute now.
Not enough praise for Marner. He’s been awesome when we were shit, and awesome when we’ve been good. Such a gamer with his effort level and overall play. What a stud.
Honorable mentions to Hyman, Marleau, and Brown who were relentless all game, and to Johnsson and Kapanen who each made some great plays. Loved that sequence with Kapanen on the PK and getting the breakaway and he and his partner skating back all the way to steal the puck and clear it out. Marvelous.
All our D looked good, but Polak still kills me with these icings and stupid decisions. I’m so worried that he’s going to cost us at some point like he did repeatedly earlier in the series.
Pleks also deserves a big shout out for playing over his head. If we can get past them in 7, that 2nd can turn into the next Gretzky for all I care.
As for the Bruins, I hate them more and more. Marchand entering the pile to grab Gardiner by the head and rip his helmet off like a bandaid. What the ****ing ****? How does no one see him or call it? How do we not retaliate against him with a massive open ice hit? Just like him up on one of those rushes and forget about the puck. Just end him already. Piece of shit.
And Debrusk looks like another little **** too. His antics and his face going back to the bench after the goal, like another little twerp like Gallagher who you want to just pound until that smile become toothless.
But Rask, man oh man. He was stellar in the third, made the game more exciting than it should’ve been. The save on Willy after the saucer pass by Matty...oof. He had three really nice stops. Buuut, he did give the puck away and later give up the rebound on Willy’s goal. And Marner’s was sneaky, but Rask was too far over. Whatever, another L for him. He’s now 5-12 in elimination games, hopefully soon to be 5-13.
To me, we’re officially ahead of our development at this time last year. Not only is Boston way better than last year’s Caps, but they’re just really ****ing good all around. That Bergeron line has magical chemistry. But we fell to the Caps in this same situation, and rose to the challenge against the Bruins. I will be over the moon if we win game 7, but no matter what, the kids showed a ton of character coming back to tie it.

Yup that was our big missed opportunity. I'm surprised it's going to 7 with all the things against the Leafs.

- Freddie was rock solid ... he's been pretty spectacularly solid for 2 games in a row now, and we need 1 more from you Freddie
- OTOH, Rask was also equally solid for Boston, and kept Boston in the game when the Leafs had a few solid great in the 3rd. He made big stop on Kapanen (SH), Nylander and Matthews
- But boy, when we were BAD in this game, were we ever BAD ... we just kept getting beat by the board, in the corner, and we got killed by the Bruins' top line's cycle game
- Bend but not broken was the name of this game, and Freddie was a big part of it
Now we just gotta take it to the Bruins in their backyard, need a big game from everyone but more important, Matthews need to be our best offensive player, Pleks need to continue to neutralize Bergeron, and Freddie needs to at least match rask save by save.

Nah, but he should have gotten 2 for elbowing and two for roughing. Leafs should have had a PP.

I honestly do not think it was intentional, he had his head turned away from Andersen, IMO a penalty not a suspension and i hate Backes.
