Yeah ... Detroit isn't good, but that doesn't mean they're easy to play against. Their speed gives everybody fits and when Howard plays like he did last night they tend to stick around in games. Carolina played a professional road game. Leaning on their own strengths and trying to keep it simple in transition. I think the Canes lose a bit of offensive potency sometimes when they button things down a notch, but they're probably a better team ... especially on the road.Great effort. I don't care if they're playing a rebuilding team - it's never easy on a back-to-back, especially when it's the 3rd game in 4 days. Detroit is a fast team, but we controlled play for over 40 minutes and easily matched their speed.
And for those on Gardiner watch ... he was solid again. Nothing special, but he looked comfortable for the 2nd game on the hop. Don't look now but the internet lineup changers are starting to look longingly in TVR's direction ... convinced as they are that Fleury is the answer to ... something. I've never been sure what, because Fleury sort of sucks.
