GDT: Canes @ Stars 2/27 8:30

I'm skiing in Colorado and where we're stating doesn't hace a tv.

After the game
Muller: we played a good game but just didn't convert our chances. I really liked the way they controlled the game and our pp is coming along. It will be firing on all cylinders come the playoffs.

Staal: we worked very hard but didn't get the breaks we needed. Our goal tending was subpar tonight.

Skinner: yeah, I mean, ok. We played a good game.

Faulk: the wings and centers made a few mistakes that cost us.

Jr: I really like this teams and have every confidence come July we'll be in the playoffs.

Tv announcer: playoffs in July?

Jr: yes, the golf playoffs you stupid ninny. What in tarnation do younthink I've been building all these years! A hockey team? This year were gonna kick the wings butts all over pine hurst! Mark my words, this is a team of destiny.

I gave it up after the 2nd. And you know what, Tripp was even making sense tonight saying the Canes just ain't bringing any level of intensity. I've got more important things to do - working on some family genealogical mysteries. they make more sense.

I stopped recording just before Staal scored. Hainsey just earned my respect. Still won't watch this game, but it's nice to see some emotion from someone besides the fans on this forum.

Pk needs to fire jr. Now, tonight. I don't want jr taking the team to the deadline and making stupid trades.
Get rid of him. He is responsible for the mess on the ice and the coaches that teach the mess..

Be careful of what you ask for. RF would be a likely successor and his record on "can't miss" prospects is dreadful!

OT: BTW my time was (maybe) productive, I may have found the parentage of a mystery antecedent that we've been looking for for some years. And the clues were there and the best family geni's might have missed it. Or... I may be full of beans.

Be careful what you look for...you may find ties to the Rutherford family! Then we can blame you for some of this mess :)

The genealogy stuff is pretty interesting. I was lucky enough to have an uncle on each side of my family that has been researching for years which leaves me with a nice detailed tree going back around 175-200 years so far.

Was snoozing by this point, what did he do?

Just watched the "highlight" video from TSN. Apparently the Stars player ran over Khudobin at full speed, and Hainsey immediately grabbed him and pounded his face into hamburger. Bloodied him up quite decently. Haven't seen that from a Canes player in several years. And it probably means Hainsey will be traded tomorrow....does not fit the pansy stereotype.

My "favorite" part of the broadcast was Tripp, and Forslund (surprisingly to me), making excuses for taking Lindholm over Nichuskin. Playing up the Russian factor (which ignores that he played juniors in Canada and made it clear he wanted to be in the NHL), and using stories about Radulov and even Kovaluchuk going back to the KHL.

If they are going to bring that up----why don't we ever hear that about Semin and Khudobin? Ridiculous.

I don't care about Lindholm's vision and hockey sense. Nichuskin is a beast and will continue to get better.

(sorry for my spelling of Russian names, but like the Canes players--I don't care enough to get it right and like Muller says every freaking game-I didn't come here ready to play for whatever reason)

No doubt...soft as Charmin and small and tiny is JR's idea of team toughness. Count me in the "I'm Done With This Bunch" camp, I will find more useful things to do with my spare time, this team and org is a joke, within two years this club will be on the radar as a relocate candidate once JR has completely run the Canes into the ground.

Get used to it. Lindholm was a Francis pick, Rutherford says something to the effect of "looks like you get your guy" as they are getting up to walk to the podium. Francis is your future GM. And so far, Francis has a horrible track record at identifying young talent. Not saying Lindholm can't develop into a strong NHL player, but Nichuskin was hands down the much better pick, far more NHL ready. But hey, teams guess wrong every draft, especially this one. Leave it to Tripp to make excuses, the guy is a master at it.

Well ... we had a lot of fun at Alton Brown's live show last night. I'm going to forget this game even happened.

Thing about the power play, they're working on it and supposedly spent a lot of time practicing it when they returned from the Olympic break. Whatever they're doing, it ain't working.

PK needs to do something. The losing stink of the past five season has taken hold and just seems to be in the culture.

While there is a Rutherford as an antecedent (not direct ancestor) back there, it's from Virginia not Canada. My line is solid back to 1650 in VA and firm back to 1500 in Bedfordshire. I'm awaiting confirmation on my app. for the Sons of the American Revolution that both the chapter & state registrars say is one of the best they've seen.

Wow, knuckle sandwich for that guy. Glad somebody still gives a crap.
