The State Fair roadie begins as the Canes look for a 7th straight win.

The Canes came from behind to beat the Caps on Tuesday. Svech and Aho continued their monster starts, Svech with 2 goals and an assist, Aho with 2 assists. But the win came with a cost, Taylor Hall is out week to week with an upper body injury. Bradly Nadeau and Felix Unger Sorum were recalled and immediately deployed on PP2. Nadeau replaced Hall on Stanky’s line, FUS skated with KK. Kochetkov was listed first on the practice wrap up yesterday, he could get the call. With the early start, there is no skate so we’ll have to wait for RBAs presser at 12:15 CDT.

No Hellebuyck, no problem. The Jets are 4-1-2 so far, but 1-1-1 in their last 3 games, coming off an OT loss in Chicago on Thursday. Kyle Connor leads with 8 goals, 4 each at even strength and PP. Mark Scheifele has 6 assists. Stuart Skinner has started 5 games in goal and is at 2.76/.906. Clay Stevenson backs up at 3.10/.872. Their spcial teams are good, 4th on the PP, 7th on the PK.

Skinner has always played pretty well against Carolina and the Jets are always a tough out even when they're struggling ... which they aren't. That said, Josh Morrissey has been out, which degrades their D significantly, and I've seen that Stevenson has been announced as the goalie today. So, good bounces for Carolina there. With Staal out and Ehlers still in neutral, these are both pretty much two line teams so the matchups will take care of themselves and this likely comes down to special teams. Both teams are good at that stuff, so this one should be pretty cagey.
