and Pretty Amazing Parenteau

So, uhh Montreal, still looking for that top 6 winger? We got a French one to boot for you!

I'll just leave this here:

Tyler Bozak: GP 15, G 3, A 9, Pts 12
Phil Kessel: GP 17, G 6, A 5, Pts 11

There should be a law that no top end talent be wasted on Esmonton anymore. It's like the NHL version of the Browns. Where top talent goes to rot.

He had flashes with us too. Pass.

You also have to remember that Roy ran him out of Colorado. There's a huge chip on his shoulder.

Should they get it this might be the year they finally actually trade it. Could see them trading down for Chychrun.

There would be some irony in Edmonton winning the lottery again, which has been changed this year to stop Edmonton from winning it again. It's basically the Edmonton rule.

I have no doubt that Edmonton would take the forward. Every player in your top 6 needs to be a former 1st overall pick, it's the proper way to rebuild.

The team still has a lot of areas we need to improve ... for example our SA is still too high (at 30.1SA and sitting 22nd in the league this year, which is already a huge improvement from 33SA and 29th last year)

But man, this team is finding ways to win games, and special teams which were our problem in October, actually won us a game last night.

babcock is a miracle worker and he's improving the team with a very talent-limited roster sooner than I thought ... Reimer didn't have to be spectacular and we easily won last night's game - against a hot team too!

I don't think we're gonna be picking top 10 at this rate - which is fine since it's our young guys carrying the team and winning games.

While I also agree that Babcock is doing the best with what little he has to work with here, I think it's a little premature to think we won't be picking top 10. We're still saddled with a tandem of backup goalies known for choking at the most inopportune time. If the last couple or three seasons are any indication, the man in our net will drag us down again.
But that's OK, at this point. Let the rebuild continue.

I didn't think coaches could win games for a team, but that was a coaching win. They way they moved the puck on the PP was very impressive. It was all position, and quick short passes though. Not crazy plays by the players.

That said, the advanced stats still suggest this is unsustainable. 5 on 5 play wasn't great, and they are still getting the hot goaltending. This won't keep up.

Babcock is a genius though. i wouldn't be concerned at all about bringing Nylander into this environment.
