GDT: Game 6 - Montreal Canadiens @ NY Rangers – Thursday May-29, 2014 - 8:00 pm

When i was younger the living rooms would be filled with all sorts of hockey fans. Now this forum is the next best thing. The age of the internet

This is the last game thread of the season. I may not post on all of them but always read word for work. Kinda sad feeling that its all over. Very proud of the team and seen greatness in 27 tonight. This kid is going to be a leader and a beast. Way to go Expo.. you were probably the biggest cheerleader in the playoffs and never gave up hope. Try to do that in the reg season next year lmao.

You're right about 27...too bad he was anchored with 2 ineffective humps this round.

Gio and Pleks have that effect on the winger they play with...it's why we gotta move on from these two guys and change the look of the # 4 to 6 forwards on the depth chart that these two are sloted in

But Pk is more of a game breaker and game changer

PK will become smarter with time, he's already become a much better player overall since last year this time

The smarter line is total horseshit and it is just like how Larry Bird was a smarter player than Magic.

Subban tries to do a lot, nothing wrong with that type of player. We just expect him never to make a mistake which is ridiculous.

Slow & steady almost always wins the race. Warren Buffet has been consistent over his lifetime, there have been splashier (game breaking) fund managers, but they haven't lasted the test of time.

Subban was a great pick, and an excellent young player, but he won't develop top end level hockey IQ. He plays hockey the way Bo Jackson played baseball, all athleticism (and superb at it), but that won't last the test of time - because the body beaks down faster than the brain, and when Subban's does, as it does for every athlete, he'll have trouble adapting.

Knock on wood, hoping that's a long ways away.

Lidstrom almost never made mistakes, he wasn't big, wasn't fast, didn't have the hardest shot, but one of the greatest Dman ever, simply because he was the smartest guy on the ice w unmatched hockey IQ.

Lidstrom was pretty big from what I recall.

You probably don't mean it that way but the way you constantly say that the black player Subban is dumb and gets by on his athleticism compared to smart white boys who aren't are skilled does smack of subtle racism.

Iginla last time I checked was a player of color, his hockey IQ is off the charts, from day 1, especially for a power forward, whose game is based on emotion & thump, never gets dumb penalties at critical moments, and never gets caught out of position.

Last I checked I've gone on record as saying Evander Kane with the right surrounding will transform into a steal of a move by a team - hopefully by the Habs. His hockey IQ is solid, just needs to mature, learn to behave/conduct himself as a professional which'll come over time.

Does that help?

BTW, Lidstrom was 190 lbs soaking wet, with an anchor around his neck.

and you don't watch either of them all the time, nor with a vested interest so you are not noting all their "low IQ" moves

Subban is not a dumb player, it is ridiculous to say he is

Never said he was a dumb player (don't put words in my mouth), I said he won't develop elite hockey IQ, even though he pretty much already possesses elite hockey skills, and IMO is the best pure athlete in the NHL.

Summer is officially here. Kudos for having the first really stupid argument of the off season guys.

I agree.

The TSN panel had a quiz question about Subban & McDonagh and it was 2-1 for Subban but that was before the series started.

McDonagh is impressive but I think PK has more upside once he fully grasps his role on the team.
