They traded Saad to get anisimov, i'm not sure thats the best example based on the price.

That said, yes, a second line centre shouldn't be that hard to get. I mean we can live with Chucky as the first line guy, especially if he keeps close to a PPG pace.

If we bounce out early from playoffs, this summer, it's all-in (again) to get that center....

Bergy has lots of draft picks....he won't be around to see them play if he doesn't find that center

The problem with this organization is that they made themselves believe that Pleks was that guy, and wasted 1-2 years of decent trade value for him....just like they did with Theo years ago when they held on too long to him

FA options are not good... Thornton, Hanzal, Gagner, Bonino, Desharnais, Fisher.... not sure there is an answer there.

So you have to trade for one if you don't get Shipachyov.

-Scoring coming mainly from Max on 5 v 5 situation, no secondary.
- The gap in level of talent between the first 3 and the rest is HUGE.
-We supposedly have only two great defenders at best.

Plus Price is top 10 this year, not top 3.

Is pretty much Shippy or bust. Same plan as last year. Sure, we can trade for a pivot but not without weakening another position.

Price was top-3 5-on-5 save % during MTs tenure, his PK save % was 28th - that blame is squarely in MTs inability to see a problem & force adjustment.
Price will end season top-5 (at worst) since the PK under Julien has been amongst the best in the league.
With Holtby and Dubnyk's recent struggles I wouldn't count out Price's resurgence as a Vezina candidate

Pls name me #1 C who'se been traded during MBs tenure as GM, the Habs were in a position to acquire be it via trade (including having assets to acquire or willingness to waive NTC/NMC) / via UFA or the Habs passed over in the draft since 2012?
Also not MBs fault the 2012 draft did not yield a McDavid or Matthews instead of Galchenyuk.
As Friedman said last week, Subban would've likely been a Canuck had Van 1st rounder been able to draft Dubois..MB knows he needs a C
 
Do we even make the playoffs this year if we traded PK for Dubois? Probably a rebuilding year where we get a decent draft pick.
