I was out and about for most of this game, so I listened to a bunch of on the radio...and holy shit, was I reminded of how much I miss Joe Bowen & Jim Ralph.
Yeah, I hear ya. It's tough to enjoy it too much when it's the same unsustainable BS formula for a Leaf win; we score 4, give up 40+ shots and the goalie plays fantastic. And now these chumps go home feeling good about themselves, and will likely try to pull the same routine in our next game against Florida.

If Kessel hit 3 posts we would not hear it at all. Seguin doesn't score and it did not matter.

Sometimes you win games that you don't deserve, and good teams win those games ... last night's example is one of those.
I'd take the win, and anytime you stop the losing skid at 3 it's a good thing, but let's not pretend we're starting to turn things around, cause we sure aren't.
There are too many players who believe if they play hard for 5 min in a 20 min period they can win the game and have a successful season, and last night's an example of how it can be done - Unfortunately it also takes your goalie standing on his head to do that, and you simply can't have sustained success playing this style.
The good news is, Dallas also plays this style of hockey, and when we trade chances, in both games against them, we prove we have more offensive weapons than them that we can win a shootout contest against them. But most teams aren't going to trade chances with us and I hope Shanny & Co, takes a long hard look at this team during the Christmas break to analyze where we're at. Allowing avg of 34 shots is ridiculous, having 9 games with 40+ shots at the half point mark of the season is crazy.
The positives from last night though, was it was a rock solid game by our captain, and somehow we should figure out a way to get Dion pissed before every game, cause an angry Dion is sure a lot more effective.
And, Kadri continues to produce and him and JVR are proving you don't HAVE to keep Kessel and JVR together to produce. JVR set one up for Kadri last night in the opening minute, and Kadri returned the favour later on in the game.

This team's D sucks the big Carlyle. Bernier stole this game for an undeserving team. I can't wait to see how this group of guys fares under a coach who actually understands defense.
