Also, best as I can tell, the Canes just absorbed Washington's best shot. Yeah, it was at home which makes it a bit easy to defend, but that was pretty much the kitchen sink from the Caps and the Canes took a fairly easy, if a bit nervy, decision. That's a big boy result right there.
