The team just utterly stopped playing after the fourth goal ... with over 14 minutes left on the clock. Something is seriously wrong when you see that happening.

And to zeke's point earlier, they crumble at the first sign of adversity. It's pretty hard to like a team that plays like that.
 
Second unacceptable effort at home. That's the other troubling thing. To play like this so often in front of your home crowd. What do you expect the fans to do? Good on them to throw shit and boo. They are as tired as we are over this garbage.

I ****ing hate Franson so much. As much as I love Gardiner, I would jump on a Staal deal just to get Franson out of town. Christ, he sucks.

But not as much as Carlyle. In a game where you're getting zero offense, bench Kadri. Why, because he was obviously gassed and couldn't take his man on that Detroit goal. Meanwhile, sucking shit like Holland, Panik, and Franson carries no consequences. It's only if you're really good like Kadri and Gardiner that you get embarrassed and abused.

And where is this system that is supposed to get us better possession? Almost every play is a dump or shoot in. And it's like the guys just aren't in sync at all out there.

As we all wanted, they should have fired Carlyle at the end of last year, given a younger guy a shot, and seen if it worked out, then maybe keep him, and if not, go all out for Babcock. They're pissing away the whole ****ing season with that fat ****ing dumbass in charge back there.

It is so frustrating watching this team lose. Because they lose with zero compete. ****ers.
 
Judging the shitty dman Franson has always been, and the horrendous coach Carlyle is, are not new things.

They are continuing problems that are killing the team from season to season.

The answer to your question is a big giant yes.

Shanny's pretty much written off this season with signing Randy back again - no reasonable man would expect things to change by replacing assistants. He is hoping for Babcock next summer. Which in my opinion is one of the dubmest move a team can make.

I just dont see this team playing consistent hockey like the colorado game. This game was an indication of a plethora of defensive issues with this team. And the turnovers....daer lord, different personnel, same issue. I dont know how this happens.

And it turns out the idiot behind the bench doesnt know either - based on his post game.
 
I think the Colorado game wasn't so much the Leafs being awesome as it was a team with similar problems to our own, having a really poor game. A lot of clubs made us look really bad for long stretches last season because we have some fundamental system flaws. We exposed similar flaws in Colorado the other night, which is a lot different than controlling the play that dominantly against a quality possession club.
 
Dion has been so shitty since he signed that deal. I know Carlyle will just sit Percy next game, but he should make a statement and sit a vet.

Maybe Clarkson isn't the worst deal on this team.
 
Clarkson and Komorov have led the charge up front; that whole 3rd line has been one of the rare bright spots of this young season
