It pains me to say this because there are so many Reimer supporters on this board, but I am really hoping we land Luongo in the offseason.
The year they lost in the finals, the Canucks couldnt score to save their lives in that series. And this year, man, you cant label anything on him due to the total and constant soap opera the Canucks netminding situation was all year. It must have been a total mind fuk all season for Luongo and Schneider for that matter, but especially for Luongo.

Reimer frustrates the living shit out of me... The rebounds make me insane... I cant remember ever seeing a goalie worst, maybe just as bad, but not worst.. Having watched Anderson in the Habs series, Reimers rebound control is so painfully subpar..
And the times that Reimer had to handle the puck behind the net in this series , christ, he handles the puck like a nun handles a cock. Doesnt have a clue what to do with it.
and there are too many times Reimer looses sight of the puck during play... I know it happens but way too often with Reimer....

If I had a wish for the summer, it would be to land Luongo and make him the #1 starter for the Leafs.

this offseason is going to be a horror show if we have to listen to Luongo rumours again.

Reimer's done more than enough that we don't need to add a goalie in his mid's 30 signed until his 40's.

Reimer has played OKAY in the playoffs. He has made the stops that he should make and here is the issue; past 8 years we have not had a goalie who AT LEAST makes routine saves. What Reimer has yet to do is make the very big saves; to be that type of game changer that a young team like the Leafs would need for playoff success.

Having said all that; **** no to Luongo and that contract.

I think it would be incredibly stupid to lock up that much money in a guy that age and for that long when we FINALLY FINALLY got .920+ goaltending this year.

Yup. Luckily for me i don't like being around when hockey season is not on. Summer and all, way too many things to do...but yeah it will be brutal for sure.

how many goals have the bruins scored on rebounds this series?

1?

Not saying its likely to happen. I just dont see Reimer being 'the' guy.. I just dont.

If he can improve on rebounds
If he can improve on puck handling
If he can improve on his vision

Too many ifs for me.

Its been so long since we have had a goalie that was dependable, I understand the desire to have that presence in nets. Reimer isnt the guy.

I would love to eat crow down the road and say 'oh boy , was I wrong!!"

I havent counted them. If you say 1 , sure... I dont care.

There are still way too many rebounds, WAY TOO MANY... That is playing with fire and you know it.
Its not like Boston has the likes of Malkin or Crosby or Neal hovering around the net waiting for rebounds.

Reimer finished 7th in SV% this year, tied with a guy nominated for the Vezina. He was pretty great and the biggest reason the Leafs finished where they did.

Reimer has bailed us out many times with some stupid good saves. He has his flaws but he has been there when we needed him.

Kritter i honestly think that Reimer's weakness is more mental..Just like he bounced back from being a pussy(when people got in his crease and he'd end up staying down) now he always bounces back up and continues playing. He had a great season and now that is playoff time i think he's getting this pressure get to him. With more of these games he will become stronger and those rebounds won't be as big a problem.

For a guy who supposedly has a lot weaknesses, he stopped pucks at one of the highest rates in the NHL this year.
