Habs News & Notes: Regular Season 2019-2020

Brendan Gallagher needs a surgery and is officially out. Won’t play the rest of the series vs Flyers and I don’t yet how long he’ll be out yet

I don’t think Price plays more than 50 especially if it’s a condensed schedule which means lots of back-to-backs

Big news today:

Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the team has agreed on the loan of forward Hayden Verbeek to the Banska Bystrica HC'05 in the Extraliga in Slovakia, for the start of the 2020-21 season. Verbeek is expected to report for Montreal & Laval training camps for the 2020-21 season.

Might be awhile till hockey returns to normal, there is talk of an all Canadian schedule for Canadian teams.

How would you balance out the season in this case
Maybe something like the top 4 Canadian teams from the Canadian regular season schedule make the playoffs. Then the playoffs are played in a bubble again or not dependent on the Covid situation.

You can’t bubble for an entire season . Have to figure a way to play in your own venue even with limited or no fans

That’s the whole point of keeping it Canadian. No bubble but no border crossings until deep into the playoffs.

4 divisions of 7/8 teams. One is all Canadian.
