Actually spilling the tea is the quickest way for any insider to become an outsider. The Catch 22 of sports punditry is that the only way to be an insider is to never tell anyone what you know, which begs the question: Why do we even need so-called "insiders" if they're only going to tell us stuff 30 seconds before we would have found out anyway?
 
One thing I hate is the routine burning of one year of the entry level deal (like we do all our top prospects including Hutson who played 2 meaningless games in 23-24).

It seems like a one way courtesy. What does the team get out of it?

the fact he didn't stay in school and become a UFA then sign with the Rangers
