Habs sign Paul Byron to three-year, $3.5M deal

I have to agree but his time of reckoning will come soon if he can't turn this season into an anomaly.

Well obviously. This is his first "bad" season. This summer will tell us if MB has long future here or not - his contract won't have anything to do with it. In the world of pro sports today, the monetary value of MB's extension is the equivalent of a few home playoff gates max.

I like his determination but at the end he is 5'7 and i noticed in many occasions he lost battles not because of lack of effort because his size, size is an issue when you play in 3rd and 4th line.

Anyway now i hope for real we get rid of little Dave and i don't give a damn which way, fcuking trade or buyout or whatever.

Does the very high cost of housing is NoCal. prevent you from buying a cup of coffee in the morning at Starbucks when you feel like having one? Didn't think so.

Good amount for a good depth player. Maybe a year more than we really care for, but worst case you bury him and it only costs 200k on the cap

Because he's a UFA and someone else would likely give him the 3rd year?

Byron? I would have been surprised, he think he might have gotten an invite to a training camp.

It's not like people are going on a bidding war for 5'7 PK specialists.

I still to this day do not understand the constant necessity to give term for depth players.

I understand that you can bury them at no cost in the AHL. That isn't the point.

Mitchell, Byron & Flynn are all signed and we only need one of those players. The other two are just taking up space for... why?

>says he wants this team to be bigger and tougher to play against
>signs one of the smallest players in the league for three years

To give us things to talk about here.

Yep, and then we will be complaining that the players from our farm team don't get their chances.
