Habs trade PK Subban to Predators for Shea Weber

Even neutral observers admit that Weber is better than Subban right now. The only potential downside is down the road 3 or more years from now. But right now it's no contest.

Don't give a shit about 3 years from now , our window is 2-3 years . I will agree we are a better TEAM with Weber , and our locker room should be better without the rock star.

I think if you lived out west , in Weber nation you would see that there are many old and young that say we won this trade. I am a big PK fan, but I am also a Weber fan, I have been since his days with the Rockets.. I have to admit I will miss PK, but I cheer for the team and right now, I think we have the better d-man for this team... I have been saying for a long time we miss toughness on the back end.. Weber helps with that .. no hockey player "fears" PK, pretty much across the board, NHL players fear Weber

If it's no contest why wasn't PK chosen to play for Canada in the WHC? Why is Weber preferred by virtually every head coach and GM in the league save for Poile and Laviolette? Why were so many teams no more willing to take on Subban's contract than the Habs were to keep it?

Face it, since Subban's Norris season he's been nowhere close to that level. He's been very good, but not $9 million worth of good.

I think PK game was squeezed because of MT, PK played like he thought MT wanted him to. it will be exciting to watch him play with a more offensive minded coach.

We're a better team with Price healthy. The Weber for Subban trade actually makes us a tad worse, but with Price healthy we'll be OK and probably make it to the first or second round.

PKs career season so far has been 2014-2015 (not his Norris year).

Yes, those 6g will be some hard to replace and removing a narcissistic headcase shouldn't hurt too much.

I thought he overall game has greatly improved since his Norris season.

Weber might be a better fit for this team but Im not convinced that fear = wins. Or even that fear = better defense.
