Habs trade PK Subban to Predators for Shea Weber

I'm with Scrivens. I don't see a single reason to dislike PK. Hell... he's so likeable that most Leaf fans on this site even liked him while he was still a Hab. Pretty much every one of my friends like him and they're mostly Vancouver and Edmonton fans.

No need to debate anything here:

Bergy-Therrien have stressed a million times that they wsnted ka-rac-tar......PK didn't follow on-ice directives....didn't get along it seems with a few vets in the locker room....so they sent him packing.

Now, Bergy is realizing that PK had more ka-rac-tar than Max and Pleks combined. Weber is an awesome player, but seriously, we didn't maximize Subban's value. Subban should have been able to land us an incredible package, maybe a center. But signing him at 9 mil knowing that you didn't like him and would probably eventually trade him, meeehhhhhh

Had we traded PK for Taylor Hall, no problem. PK for a very good but older player who plays the exact same position that he does . . . it's a problem.

Bergevin and MT will be footnotes in Habs history. PK will be a Hall of Famer.

When your coaches are Jacques Lemaire-type coaches, you expect to get another dmen in return for PK.

Dumb, yes I know.....especially when you already have Price, and a decent defensive system. But I guess there's a reason French Canadians were never good at management...just look at Quebec and its downfall

That was my biggest beef with the trade from the get go. I wouldn't be happy about it necessarily but even if you got a lesser player at another position you could sell me on it. But to get worse and older at the same position is indefensible.

Are you saying francos should have stayed in the clergy business? Montreal's l economic standing seems to agree with you.

I don't know about LeafFan liking him when he was with us, they seemed to enjoy Van Reimsdork mocking a Subbanian celebration (and I suspect many of them like him now because they are somehow sticking it to us)

Wtf guys?

I suspect Ch was sarcastic.

It would be fair comment though to state that French Canadian business types don't seem to have the same balls that some American/English types do and often rely on the Caisse to bail them out.

That said, separatism killed Quebec, not the fact French run businesses now.

You just agreed with my post with that comment

No balls means a constant inferiority complex....this province has had this for ages now. Destroys any creativity or entrepreneurship

I was busting Rolex's chops. I would never pin Bergevin's idiocy on his native tongue -- the guy doesn't speak it well enough.
You're fine, I know you were joking, plus it's not your style. My comment was not directed at you.

Come live over half a century in this province, and then come tell me that i'm wrong....

They love to level from the bottom in this province......if something is good, well, it needs to be brought down to average or mediocre, to be on par with the rest.

Bergevin and Therrien felt so threatened by Subban's personality, that they preferred YES MEN like Max-Pleks over him when they saw that there was tensions in the locker room....

If Subban was French Canadian, he'd be captain right now....simple as that...what does that tell you about this organization.

And don't get me started on the French media, which is the main reason Habs have a bad reputation around the league with players (especially around UFA time)

Dude, I grew up in Quebec, lived there for 30 years. I agree with you about the leveling from the bottom, it pisses me off, I feel it's a by-product of the socialist mentality going on there. But I disagree about the blanket statement of management, there is many poor franco managers, there is also plenty of poor English managers but they don't stick out as given the population difference. There is also great management folks that are French. Wanna look at Cirque du Soleil and Couche Tard for examples? There is many more.

Those examples are so rare though...

Another good example would be why we haven't have a French owner in forever ? Even when the Habs were soooooo cheap to buy.....Gillett bought the team and arena for under 300M....no french company came out to buy them. Caisse Depot even financed a good chunk of the sale.....where was Quebecor, Bombadier, etc.....WTF....they had no balls to make such a move. It's the ''safe'' french business mentality....

or are they smarter and know owning us is a no win situation, if we win, who cares you are the Habs, you are supposed to win, if we lose, owner is a moron, has no balls etc
