Hey Nerds: Blockchain

I kept wondering what LOF was talking about since it doesn't seem so bloody to me until I saw QQQ was getting decimated. Yeah, not an ideal day but if you're long what do the daily ticks matter?

Eh, just unnecessary pain. You wouldn't understand, you sadist.

QQQ is where all the action is. But yeah, things just don't go up, so this is part of the bargain. I just try not to look on days like today.

On the flip side; Leafs will win to soften the blow. And Leafs >> stupid money you won't need for 30 yrs

Hope so. Actually I kinda know so.

Where the fuck did today go already? Dammit I am so unproductive for one round of the playoffs each year.

LOF, I didn't think you'd be down so much today as bank stocks are up almost 2%, as money rotates out of tech and into financials.

I have only a small percentage in banks. That's why I've been looking to maybe add to it. So the fact that those are doing better makes it even worse. Thanks CH! : )

I honestly thought you were more of a "bank guy"....and Slack was your occasional foray into tech. Sorry.

The exact opposite!

When I first started investing, I was so risk-averse. I did actually only buy the low growth stuff with dividends. I had Coke, Verizon, Viacom (for a minute), and a few others I can't even remember now. But after like a year of holding them and making a few bucks in dividends, I saw that their share prices went fucking nowhere. So I got really annoyed with them and started moving out of them and into more tried and true older tech plays like Qualcomm. But that too was dicking around and after a while I quit on it. (The funny thing is that all those guys, except Viacom, have done just fine and paid out nicely since I dumped them, but just not enough upside for someone on the younger side like me).

Then one day I had lunch with this friend of a friend, and he was telling me how he only believed in investing in tech, that those ran the world and were all around us and only getting bigger and better every day. I distinctly recall telling him though that those names, like Amazon, Google, Apple, etc., were all SO expensive. It's funny in retrospect, and he also kinda laughed at me then too. But I left that lunch thinking he was right, that they were expensive but they deserved to be, and if you want part of some actual upside, you gotta go with them. So slowly I did.

And now full circle, I'm thinking about adding more of the value stocks to balance out and pay some income.

Still, I didn't waver from my belief that Amazon and Google were too expensive, so I never got in on those. Quelle domage. Quelle damage to my portfolio for leaving them out.

makes sense...I had you pegged incorrectly because of your desire to get in on more banks.

yeah, tech investing is the way to go for serious outperformance, it's a hell of a ride and there's lots of nasty drawdowns...but the risk is why we get paid

I totally understand the fear tho; I had it too when I didn't hold on to SHOP

My Shop position in my portfolio, considering it would've been 10x, would have provided such a crazy comfy lotto cushion.

When pot stocks are hot, end of week action is often so so bullish. That's FOMO at work. People want to be holding over the weekend. Trulieve with a ncie recovery and Thumb approaching green.

I spoke too soon about Trulieve. Someone just bailed. But regardless, pretty good day and a great week. The folio is in a wonderful place.

I haven't watched CNBC in like two weeks. I can't get myself going in the mornings so I cut out the distraction of that. But it hasn't worked. I'm arguably worse in the mornings now. I'm very pissed at myself quite honestly for my declining daytime productivity, which I compensate for by working later and later into the night.

I’ve been there... not good. Every day you tell yourself, tomorrow I’m only going to check my stonks at the open, midday and the close... but it doesn’t happen.
